Certificates of changes in boat ownership, 1857-1904.

According to canal regulations all boats operating on the waterway had to be registered and ownership change information filed with canal officials. Ownership change register entries included new and former boat owner names; boat name; date that ownership changed hands; and location of the canal office where the change was registered.
